Well here it is, Christmas 2017. It’s been two years since I posted the video tour of my studio. (You can find that on the YouTube channel link at the top of the page.)
I toasted all the posts except the “10 things to ask yourself”article. That’s just as relevant today as it was when I wrote it.
Every time I think I am ready to post something here, I get analysis paralysis…what to write about, how much detail, who could be offended by what I write, does anyone really give a rip what I write, and so on and so forth.
I’ve been really sick the last few days. I had lots of time to think about many things, including this blog. It occurred to me that if my intention is to give a peek into the day to day goings on of a working voice talent, I should just write a little something each day. If I great article idea springs forth, all the better. But at a minimum, I can write a little bit about what I did or will be doing that day. Maybe some video blog entries from time to time. Maybe an audio entry here and there.
The main point is to give folks a look into what it’s like to be doing this job every day. A lot of folks are where I used to be…wishing they could be a full time voice talent. I believe Zig Ziglar when he said, “You can have everything you want in life if you will just help enough other people get what they want”. If my record of work can help someone, or I can answer a question along the way to point someone in the right direction, I’ve done a good thing.
So starting December 26, 2017, I’ll be writing a little bit each day. Or vlogging. Or podcasting. Something. A whole bunch of little things eventually add up to something big.
